Artificial leather is a composite material made of PVC or other resins and some additives, coated or bonded on the base material and then processed. It is similar to natural leather and has the characteristics of softness and wear resistance.
The traditional product of artificial leather is PVC artificial leather. Later, new varieties such as polyolefin leather and nylon leather appeared.
Synthetic leather (artificial leather) refers to artificial leather that is similar to natural leather in composition, structure and appearance. Generally, it refers to products with polyurethane as the main raw material and non-woven fabric as the base material.
Artificial leather can be replaced in almost any occasion where leather is used to make a variety of daily necessities and industrial products.
Classification
Polyvinyl chloride artificial leather is the main variety of artificial leather, which can be divided into several categories according to the base material and structure, and generally divided into the following categories according to the production method.
(1) Coating and scraping method PVC artificial leather, such as ① direct coating and scraping method PVC artificial leather ② indirect coating and scraping method PVC artificial leather, also known as transfer method PVC artificial leather (including steel strip method and release paper method);
(2) Calendered PVC artificial leather;
(3) PVC artificial leather by extrusion;
(4) PVC artificial leather with round net coating method.
In terms of use, it can also be divided into shoes, bags, and floor covering materials. For the same PVC artificial leather, it can be classified into different categories according to different classification methods. For example, commercial cloth artificial leather can be made into ordinary coated leather or foam leather.
